HISTORY OF MUAY THAI

Muay Thai (known as Thai Boxing in the United States), is the national sport of Thailand, with a long and rich history in Thai culture. Thai fighting is extremely popular throughout the world, recognized as an extremely effective form of hand-to-hand combat.
Practitioners of Muay Thai Kickboxing use punching, kicking, knees, elbows, clinch-work, and in some situations, head butts to inflict damage and knock out their opponents. Thai boxing is one of the quickest ways to get in shape, as workouts develop cardio, speed, and power. Muay Thai is also a very fun art to learn. Training generally consists of developing technique, and practicing combinations of strikes and defenses on pads. In time, students will get the option to spar with other partners, using headgear, shin-pads, and gloves.
